A show of death of dogs in Gilan, Iran

An abandoned shelter was discovered in Gilan, Iran. Upon arrival local activists found that there were over 70 dogs locked up inside the shelter without food and water. Most of these poor dogs were emaciated, sick and had resorted to cannibalism in a fight to stay alive.

Their images went viral and touched many hearts while they were unable to talk those in charge to re-open the shelter or allow them to take care of the sick. With help of a group of activists and supporters and hours of negotiations with the authorities in charge, the dogs were finally released and brought over in 5 trucks, while the team had spent hours to prepare a separate area for these dogs.
